Following on from our previous years' successful tours of Ealing Studios, we are now going slightly further afield to see an area of North Ealing/Acton which is repeatedly used for location shoots. Why? The Island Triangle comprises a few roads of terraced properties that are virtually untouched externally and, some, internally.

The enclave of charming Victorian streets is the most filmed place in Britain. Scenes for television programmes such as Eastenders, Our Friends in the North and Foyle’s War have been shot herefeature films using the location include Eddie the Eagle, Spider and Pride, and music videos including Madness (Our House) and Pulp (Common People).

They are, of course, ideal for the setting for both contemporary and historic films. Have a quick look:

Our exploration of this charming Victorian enclave has been facilitated by the area's residents (through their residents' association TITRA) - they regularly work with the location teams who organise the various shoots. It will begin with a walking tour of the external and some internal film locations. Lunch will then be available at The Collective Old Oak, which will if possible also be the host location for our screening of Eddie the Eagle, an acclaimed PG-certificate film partly shot at The Island Triangle and premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
