Drumming and percussion are fantastic avenues for self-expression, building confidence and developing communication skills, at the same time as introducing children to cultures they may not have experienced.

Join the hour-long workshop to learn the rhythms from Rio de Janeiro and how to play! Stay on after to attend an energetic performance of popular music reimagined by the LCM Percussion Ensemble.

Jeremy Shaverin is a London based percussionist, cavaco player and vocalist, specialising in both folkloric and modern styles of Brazilian and Polynesian music. Jeremy composes, teaches and plays professionally with several groups at shows, festivals and other events around London, the UK and internationally.

A collaboration with London College of Music Percussion sees a chance for families to spend the first hour or so getting hands-on with the instruments in a workshop style event, followed by a vibrant and energetic performance by local percussionists.
