Wednesday 12th February

As in the past, the festival starts on Wednesday with a special free lunchtime recital at St Mary's Church in South Ealing given in conjunction with The London College of Music and featuring The Thorne Trio, the highly lauded woodwind ensemble. This award-winning wind group will perform an array of music from popular composers from the Baroque period to the present day and lesser known works from British composers.

In the afternoon, we will bring something a little different, indeed a Festival first, as we offer attendees the chance to experience the hugely successful Headspace Project - an immersive musical performance, taking place at 3pm at the UWL Rami Ranger Pavilion.

In the evening, there will be a chamber concert at St Mary's Perivale given by the Affinity String Quartet and soprano Lotte Betts-Dean, presented in partnership with Music at St Mary's Perivale.

We will also be screening, in the evening, Nino Oxilia’s Faustian classic Rapsodia Satanica (1915), a heady supernatural romance, starring era favourite actor Lydia Borelli, and offering not just the original Mascagni score but alternatives composed by LCM students.
